Alyssa Martinez is a recent graduate of the Master of Science Program in Global Health at Duke University's Global Health Institute. Alyssa completed her master's thesis on the interdependent relationship and psychosocial/clinical impacts of hopefulness among people living with schizophrenia and their caregivers in Dar es Salaam and Mbeya, Tanzania. In addition, she was heavily involved with a suicide prevention study for people living with HIV in Moshi, Tanzania. Alyssa is primarily interested in improving mental health care access and protecting human rights for underserved populations. She is currently working with the EMPOWER and OptimizeD teams at the Mental Health for All Lab.
