Dr. Anushka R. Patel is a trauma-focused clinical psychologist. She has completed three years of postdoctoral training in global mental health with a research emphasis (at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health) and a policy focus (at the WHO). She is currently a research staff member at Massachusetts General Brigham Hospital and a faculty member at Harvard Medical School.

Anushka specializes in assessing and treating trauma reactions with a cultural lens in low-resource settings. She uses mixed methods, community-based participatory research, and a cultural lens in her work. Anushka’s original research concentrates on the impact of gender-based violence, and she just received a K23 award to develop and test a scalable intervention in India over the next 5 years. Anushka’s vision is to democratize access to quality trauma-informed care. Her research has been cited in major news outlets such as *Al Jazeera* and the *New York Times*.
