Carina holds a BSc and an MSc in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, and a PhD from the Institute of Translational Medicine, University of Liverpool, UK. Carina was previously a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Psychiatry, University of São Paulo, Brazil, where she worked as a research coordinator of randomized controlled trials evaluating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of task-shared and digital psychosocial interventions for depression among older adults in socioeconomically deprived areas. She has also served as a visiting researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology &amp; Neuroscience, King's College London, and Bristol Medical School, University of Bristol, UK. Additionally, Carina is a Lown Scholar in the Cardiovascular Health Program at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Carina is serving as a postdoctoral research fellow at the lab, focusing on ESSENCE and EMPOWER.
