Jill Witney Ahs, PhD, MMedSci, is a Research Fellow in Global Mental Health Implementation Science at Harvard Medical School and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. Jill is a mental health epidemiologist with a background in global health research. Jill’s interests include the prevention of mental disorders and suicide, and population level measurement and metrics with a focus on adolescents, families and vulnerable populations. Jill recently working with the evaluation of a school-based mental health promotion intervention in Tamil Nadu, India. She is presently supporting research on the assessment of children’s mental health in disasters and emergencies.

Jill has served as a consultant to UNICEF Headquarters on child and adolescent health initiatives dating back to 2011 and has worked in academic research at Dartmouth College and Duke University in USA and has worked as a research officer in Stockholm, Sweden’s public health system. Jill holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont, USA, and Master’s and PhD degrees in Medical Sciences from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.
