SHARP project

SHARP's project teams from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center,  Harvard Medical School, NIMHANS, Sangath, and AIIMS Bhopal gathered in person in Bangalore, India and hosted at NIMHANS on December 13 and 14th for two days of meetings around digital mental health. SHARP (Smartphone Health Assessment for Relapse Prevention in Early Psychosis) is an international, multi-site study that involves patients, family members, and clinicians in adapting LAMP (Learn, Assess, Manage, Prevent) and assessing its real-world use in predicting and preventing relapse.

Focusing on scalable solutions utilizing smartphones and digital phenotyping, supported by the Wellcome Trust, the teams discussed study progress during the last years, worked together to analyze data, and planned new efforts to increase access to and quality of mental health care. The ability to safely meet in person was welcome by all and new connections between Boston, Bangalore, and Bhopal were formed. Given the expanding mental health toll of COVID-19, the strengthened collaborations will enable rapid deployment of new global mental health solutions designed to bring precision psychiatry into the hands (and smartphones) of all.
