I received a MA in Environmental Studies from the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Kyoto University, Japan. I studied Environmental Education and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) through my master course in Kyoto, Japan.

I am starting my study career in mental health studies as a Visiting Post-graduate Research Fellow in this lab. As I have a mental disorder since my early 20s, I am very interested in how to prevent mental health problems among youth in Japan and in the world, as it is critical point to lessen the burden of people with mental health problems. I think it would have been different if I knew proper knowledge and had proper coping skill, and so I hope as many youth as possible would acquire these knowledges and skills. Through my research activities, I hope to meet many people on the forefront of prevention studies and related projects.

In addition to my strong interest in prevention study, I would like to study also how to promote social inclusion of people with mental health problems. Inclusion is also an important issue along mental health not only to try to overcome them but also to keep living with mental health problems. It is quite meaningful theme for myself as person with lived experience.

I am studying under the scholarship program organized as “Duskin Study Abroad Leaders Program for Disabled” by the Duskin Ainowa Foundation in Japan. It is a program to empower nurturing leadership and opportunities to study abroad for people with disability with expect for us to become future leaders in the society.
