EMPOWER BA Training Details in Texas

Training Description:

The EMPOWER Behavioral Activation training is conducted online, consisting of two courses. The first course is Foundational Skills (FS) and serves as an introduction to the training, providing learners with essential mental health and counseling concepts. This is followed with the Behavioral Activation (BA) course, which delves into the specific skills required to deliver a brief, evidence-based psychosocial intervention for individuals with depression.

Languages Available: English or Spanish.

Length of the Training: A minimum of 20 hours.

Eligibility: Anyone trained and registered in Texas as a Community Health Worker can take the EMPOWER Training.

Certificate: You will get an EMPOWER Certificate from Harvard Medical School for successfully completing the training and knowledge assessment.

For certified CHW/Promotor(a) de Salud and CHW/Promotor(a) de Salud instructors in Texas ONLY: You can receive a total of 20 CEU credits for taking the training

Coach: The training is supported by a remote coach who will offer guidance, general support, and technical assistance. 

Accessing the Training: The training is hosted by Harvard Medical School. The courses can be accessed on a laptop, a mobile, or a tablet, and requires internet connection. After you complete this survey, a member of the EMPOWER Harvard Medical School team will contact you with a registration link and further instructions to access the courses.
