PRIDE (PRemIum for aDolEscents) was a five-year research program that worked on developing psychosocial interventions for school-going adolescents aged 11-19 years with mental health problems in India. The study showed how a very low cost psychological intervention can be delivered by counselors with no prior mental health training to students. The findings of the study were published in the Lancet Child Adolescent Health.
PRIDE program received a Highly Commended award at the recent Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health awards, for being an innovative research, training or practice in LMICs (in 2023), which was awarded to Dr Patel and his team.
